Make A Difference Day

Congratulations to everyone who played a role in our Halloween Treat Bag Make A Difference Day project. Our project was listed among the outstanding work done in the April 15-17 issue of USA WEEKEND Magazine, which appeared in the April 17, 2005 edition of the Altoona Mirror.

More than 50 Altoona Area School District students, their friends, and family members came to First Lutheran Church, Altoona, on Saturday, October 23, 2004, to make Halloween treat bags for childhood cancer patients at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh and Geisinger Medical Center. Others, who were unable to participate on Saturday donated treats.

Build-a-bears were made during the summer of 2004 by Harrisburg Rainbow Assembly (Worthy Advisor Nicole organized the event. She and her sister Chelsea are Brian's cousins). Bears were sent to Children's in Pittsburgh and to Geisinger.
